The Way I Read The Valkyries

“In order to penetrate the invisible world and develop your powers, you have to live in the present, the here and now. In order to live in the present, you have to control your second mind. And looking at the horizon.”
– The Valkyries

This is just one of the passages in the book that caught my soul. Not because it talked about the present but because it talked about the ‘second mind’. Accordingly, our second mind is the voice that hums the songs inside us, the one that keeps on remembering the people we used to love or despise or simply cannot forget, and the everything that we keep on wanting to suppress yet surfaces stubbornly. We do not really pay that much attention to the second mind, but we wonder about them most often.

Knowing that my mind has a second voice made me cringe. No wonder I am often at a loss, because there are just too many ghosts I refused to let go, thinking they had vanished. There are just too many dwelling places I refused to acknowledge existed.

We never really mature, we pass a stage. Some sooner, some later and for others it just does not come. We live, we try to chase our ambitions and then we look for solitude and peace. It’s just how it is.

Every one agrees that life is fleeting. And that life is change. It never stays the same. I am a believer of choice, of opportunities embraced and lost, I dictate what happens to me. This makes me hopeful, makes me dream, gives me courage and clears my realm. And I hope to share how change affects my life.
