I am writing this the day before 2021 officially starts its working day. I feel a bit agitated here because I have not done what I was supposed to do. My research paper’s long overdue and I couldn’t even get past few chapters on the results. My mind has not been on my side andContinue reading “New Year and the resolution to participate more in my life”

Self-awareness: The path to uncovering oneself
In the era of self-help and the endless search for self-actualization, self-awareness might be the most common sound bite. But its popularity also stops there because in actuality- self-awareness is a difficult path and a continuous journey. That is in so far what I learned in the three decades, almost 4 in this life. TheContinue reading “Self-awareness: The path to uncovering oneself”
Waiting for the “Holy Grail” of a Perfect Purpose
This title phrase I heard from one of Marie Forleo’s interview. Marie Forleo is one of the most interesting people on the internet so far and her interviews on YouTube have been one of my greatest resources for inspiration and everything that feels good. The interview was in 2016 and it was her 1st interviewContinue reading “Waiting for the “Holy Grail” of a Perfect Purpose”
Why MBA or a Master’s Degree is not a waste of time
Someone told me an MBA degree or a Master’s degree is useless. Well, I can’t say he is wrong because like any pursuits in life- something is worthless if we don’t apply it in everyday living. My decision to pursue a Master’s degree stemmed at one point in my career when planning, making rational andContinue reading “Why MBA or a Master’s Degree is not a waste of time”
Women are expected to be everything
Just last night, a breakdown happened. It was something that has not happened in a long time for me. It’s not that I have developed a knack for keeping my mess together but being able to set them aside temporarily. I am the typical mother of the millennia- juggling work, motherhood, wife duties and allContinue reading “Women are expected to be everything”
Understanding Functions
I am writing this while class is ongoing. I know it’s not good, I don’t believe in multi-tasking. It is not effective but surprisingly has become addicting. So I am writing this piece with a whole lot discussion going on, an idea when it arrives sometimes I find it compelling. Discussed in class topics likeContinue reading “Understanding Functions”
Moms and the busy word
I attended today a parent meeting for the upcoming Family day at school where my 7 years old daughter go. I was late because of headache and laundry and my youngest child’s tantrums and my husband’s still not done with work and my own paper at school due. When I arrived, the parent attendeesContinue reading “Moms and the busy word”
The Short Business E-mail (270)
Originally posted on The Writer's Daybook:
Today the short business e-mail has replaced the memo of past generations. Things have not improved much since the hand written MEMO forms of yesteryear. Today’s messages aren’t smudged from the carbon backing and they aren’t handwritten, but they still arrive making little sense or none at all. …
Events/ Party Organizing 101
I have done hosting events in the past, though not professionally. Usually, I grab the microphone and lead the party for friends on impromptu events when hiring someone was not in the mind, really. Ha! I have always believed that I am not good with crowds. My facial feature is not that appealing, kids usuallyContinue reading “Events/ Party Organizing 101”
Me or Them?
I asked this question today: Will you risk hurting your parents for the sake of your happiness? In a society that has high regards for societal norm and society’s expectations, this can become a one million question. What will you do?
Music & Lyrics- I hope these voices can write their own music
I was invited by a colleague to view this video of a singer (no, he is not known yet) turning to YouTube to share his talent. He’s got voice, man! His rendition of the Air Supply song “Having you near me” sounded like the original. I only get to see 2 of his songs andContinue reading “Music & Lyrics- I hope these voices can write their own music”
The morning after we attended a wedding
Yesterday was the longest Monday of my life. I attended and hosted a wedding for my mentor. It was such a special event full of love. It’s so cool that I have a very supportive husband who went there and helped me. I was so tired that I slept with full make up on.
